Dr. Duff is a fellow of ANSA and the founder and Clinical Director of the Behavioural Neurotherapy Clinic in Melbourne  . He started  his Clinical Neuroscience PhD research at the Brain Sciences Institute in 1997, investigating the causes of ADHD and its treatment using Neurotherapy. In addition to being a Psychologist, he has Postgraduate training in Clinical Neuroscience and Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. He has also received DAN training for Biomedical treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

His daily clinical work with ADHD has been featured on several TV programs such as Good Medicine, Catalyst, the Morning Show with Kerry Anne, Today-Tonight and in national newspapers and Television News. He has presented extensively on the treatment of ADHD and childhood disorders at national and International seminars. His interests and ongoing research include: Psychology, Quantitative EEG, Neurotherapy, metabolic underpinnings of mental health issues, nutritional and dietary influences on disorders. Nutritional Treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Single Nucleotide polymorphisms that predispose to modern diseases and mental health issues and their treatment through nutrigenomic interventions.

Jacques presentation will relate research findings from various disciplines to help understand and identify the many possible causal factors for ADHD, Depression and Anxiety, hopefully leading to more effective treatment.

·         How biological drives and environmental factors engender core belief systems.
·         Brainstem neuromodulators and neurotransmitter systems involved
·         Why 70-90% of patients with IBS also experience anxiety, panic and depression.
·         Genes and Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs).
·         How some SNPs affect mental health.
·         Nutrigenomics: Nutrient and SNPs interactions.
·         How nutrient deficiencies affect mental health.
·         QEEG power, asymmetry and coherence underpinnings,.
·         Effectiveness of symptom based Psychiatric treatment versus QEEG based.
·         Post Concussion Syndrome masquerading as Anxiety, ADHD and Depression.
·         QEEG as an adjunct in differential diagnosis.
·         Multidisciplinary approach more effective than single paradigm
